Anthony Elanga sends message as Manchester United youngsters reach FA Youth Cup final

Manchester United have reached the final of the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 2011 after beating Wolves 3-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

A brace from Charlie McNeill either side of a Alejandro Garnacho strike was enough to secure United's place in the showpiece event at Old Trafford. Although a date has not yet been confirmed for the final, they will face either Chelsea or Nottingham Forest.

It was an excellent performance from the United youngsters and they will now be hoping to go all the way after seeing off Scunthorpe United, Reading, Everton, Leicester City and Wolves en route to the final. They have become the first United team to reach the final since the class of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard 11 years ago.

Understandably, the players are ecstatic at having reached the final of the competition, with it offering them the chance to follow in the footsteps of many names that have gone on to be regular first-team players at Old Trafford. One of those that has made the leap from the academy setup to the first-team squad in recent months is Anthony Elanga.

And the Swede has sent a congratulatory message to striker McNeill on Instagram. Replying to the youngster's post about beating Wolves and reaching the final, Elanga said: "Dasss ma boyy," accompanied with two love heart emojis.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at how some of United's youngsters have reacted on social media to reaching the final.

As you can see from the players' Instagram posts above, they are delighted to have reached the final and will now be looking to go the full distance. The final must be played before April 30 and a date will be confirmed in due course.
