During a recent interview, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards made a fascinating reveal about his diet.
Edwards, who sat down with GQ Sports for their 10 Essentials series, included Chester’s Hot Fries as one of the items that he simply cannot live without.
The 21-year-old guard said that he has eaten Chester’s Hot Fries since he was 5 years old. He described these as the “best chips ever made” and that he eats around three bags per day.
Edwards did the math and estimated that means he eats around 21 bags of these chips per week, which has to set some sort of record for the most in the league, right?
This isn’t the first time Edwards’ diet has raised some eyebrows.
He brought food from Popeyes to a post-game media presser in 2021 and he also ordered McDonald’s from his phone during another media availability in 2022.
Earlier this season, Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns said he was not a fan of how his teammate took care of his body and his diet. Towns said that it does not make him happy when Edwards eats Popeyes.
Edwards said that he didn’t eat fried foods on Monday – Thursday during the offseason and would have no fried food during the season. Edwards said that Towns’ comments didn’t bother him because he hadn’t had Popeyes in years.
The former No. 1 overall pick ranks fourth-best in total points scored so far this season and his durability is anything but a problem — he leads the league in minutes played.
He has scored at least 30 points in four of his last five games and For The Win recently ranked Edwards as the third-best player in the league who is either 23 years old or younger.
