Although he has had multiple weak second halves this season, Anthony Davis’ numbers are up across the board.
He’s averaging 24.3 points a game on 54.2 percent shooting, 11.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.8 blocked shots per game, and overall, his statistical production is the best it has been since the 2019-20 season.
On Sunday versus the Brooklyn Nets with LeBron James out, Davis went on a rampage, scoring 37 points on 15-of-25 shooting while also snatching 18 rebounds, 10 of them on the offensive boards. Thanks to his dominance, the Los Angeles Lakers ended a five-game losing streak that night with a 116-103 win.
Head coach Darvin Ham said that before the season even started, Davis made it clear he wanted the ball early and often.

Ham had said over the summer that Davis would be the key to the Lakers’ success this season. Both Ham and James had also said that the team’s offense would be run through the superstar big man as the No. 1 option.
With James off to an uneven start this season, not to mention the fact the team is just 3-10, it will need Davis to be his vintage self in order to become very competitive.
