Anthony Cacace feeling 'fresh at 34' but accepts 'there's no room for error'

Anthony Cacace insists "there's plenty more to come" as he prepares for his big homecoming fight on Saturday.

The IBO World super-featherweight champion fights in Belfast for the first time in eights years on the undercard of Conlan vs Lopez at the SSE Arena.

It will be the first defence of the belt he won against Michael Magnesi in Manchester last September, in what was a significant achievement for Cacace who has also held the British title in the 130lbs division.

"I have been flat to the mat. This will be a special night for me," Cacace told Belfast Live.

"It is a good feeling. I am in my home city.

"It is strange in a way as I am used to flying into England and having to get used to my surroundings.

"But everything here I am familiar with. My weight has been perfect, there are no complaints."

Cacace accepts there is no room for error as he targets some "big names" in the super-featherweight division.

He has steadily manoeuvred his way into position following last year's win over Magnesi, and he knows victory against Damian Wrzesinski is a must on Saturday night.

"I can't afford any slip-ups now. Saturday night has to be a win and a good win, but I don't feel any pressure," he added.

"I am 34 now. I didn't think I would be fighting this long, but I still feel as fresh as ever.

"I want the big names. Get a win on Saturday and we move on from there and get a big name.

"I am fresh. I haven't been in too many wars and I believe there is plenty more to come from me.

"I am 34 but I feel like I am 24. I am on this great card, and it is an absolute honour being involved."
