Ant McPartlin left facing mortifying forfeit after losing Ant vs Dec

Ant McPartlin has been left facing a mortifying forfeit after being beaten by best mate and co-host Dec Donnelly in the final Ant vs Dec of Saturday Night Takeaway's series.

The rivalry between the two as they compete in an array of challenges has become part of the furniture on their popular ITV show, with it returning every year as they bid to get one over on one another. After a number of duels over the past few months, it all came down to the last Ant vs Dec this weekend.

The Geordie presenters were once again joined by Stephen Mulhern, who recently returned to the show after being missing in action, who presided over another entertaining task. For the final Ant v Dec, the lads donned racing overalls and headed outside the studio to join Stephen, who was dressed as a giant drill.

The aim of the game was for Ant and Dec to make their way around a track on karts, with them both having to contend with three pit stops, where they would have to unlock a different power tool to help build the rest of their vehicle. The winner was the person who crossed the finish line first and that ended up being Dec.

His reward was a giant trophy which he struggled to hold, while Ant's punishment saw him ordered to take to social media every month and upload a grovelling post, heaping praise on Dec. Stephen added: "You've got to say how utterly brilliant for an entire year!"

Ant simply replied that he was "gutted," by the result as Stephen told him he'd need to do his first post during the next ad break. Obeying the rules, Ant did post a Twitter on his and Dec's account in which he wrote: "A huge congratulations to this years Ant v Dec winner Dec! Clearly the best looking, most intelligent and funnier half of the duo… here’s to another 11 months of praise."
