Ant McPartlin heroically saves four puppies as woman collapses in the park on dog walk

Ant McPartlin has been branded a 'hero' after stopping four puppies from running into a busy road.

The Britain’s Got Talent host reportedly came to the rescue when a dog walker collapsed in Richmond Park, south west London.

As the dogs all ran off in different directions, the 47-year-old TV presenter is said to have chased them down and grabbed their leads, keeping them safe from oncoming cars.

Luckily the dog walker appeared to be OK and Ant was able to return the puppies to her care, while checking she was alright.

The incident is thought to have happened as Ant and wife Anne-Marie Corbett walked their own pet pooches, maltipoos Milo and Bumble and labrador Hurley, who Ant shares with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

An onlooker told The Sun : “The moment the woman collapsed, the dogs all ran off in different directions. Ant immediately sprang into action to round them all up.

“He was a real hero as they could have easily run into oncoming cars.

“He returned them to the woman, checked she was OK and helped her to her feet like a true gent.”

They added Ant continued to chat to the woman for a few minutes before continuing his walk through the park.

It’s no secret Ant loves his dogs – and chocolate labrador Hurley was the only source of contention between him and ex-wife Lisa when they split in 2018.

Lisa walked away with their £5 million Chiswick home – which she later sold – as part of a £31 million divorce package.

But Ant reportedly told lawyers at the time: “She can have anything – except the dog.”

The former couple adopted Hurley in 2013 and Ant said at the time: “There’s a loyalty and love and a companionship with Hurley that you can’t describe.”

In the end Ant and Lisa settled on a shared custody schedule for Hurley.

The pooch currently spends half of his time at Ant's £6 million mansion in Wimbledon and the other half at Lisa's West London home.

Ant's chauffeur is said to drive the pooch between houses so the former couple don't have to see each other, according to the Daily Mail .

Now Ant has moved on with his former personal assistant Anne-Marie - who he married in 2021 and got two more dogs with - Lisa is said to be filing for full custody of Hurley.

But Ant is apparently refusing to give up custody of the dog, according to reports.

A source told the Mail: "Lisa has asked to have Hurley, but Ant is saying no. He has two more dogs now, a new wife and two stepdaughters, but still he wants joint custody.

"It has led to some difficult conversations between Ant and Lisa. It’s all very sad. Ant has been able to move on, get remarried and get two more dogs. Lisa has been left to pick up the pieces."

Lisa, who is head of makeup and hair for Strictly Come Dancing , is now in a relationship with James Green.

The Mirror has approached Ant and Lisa's representatives for comment.
