Ant McPartlin didn't expect to grab the spotlight from the acts just moments into the first live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent 2023, but viewers flocked to Twitter with their concern as he suffered a hard fall. The ITV star took a tumble as he ran onto the stage after he and co-host Declan Donnelly introduced judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and Simon Cowell and special guest star Diversity.
Ant saw the funny side as he was asked if he was okay after slipping on stage. "I don't know whether I am okay. I think I wet myself and farted at the same time," he said. And Dec joked: "I can confirm that he did fart."
Ant told viewers: "If you didn't catch that on telly that was quite a heavy fall. Wow." And after the first act he continued to poke fun at himself.

"They didn't slip did they? They were steady on their feet," he quipped. Dec joked with show boss Simon: "You better lawyer up Simon" and later the duo showed a clip of the fall in slow motion to show what had happened for anyone who missed it.
@cuppaccinoqueen tweeted: "Wow. That replay of Ant falling hope he's ok." And @mb20nut said: "You know Ant and Dec are besties when Ant falls on his arse and Dec shows no concern at all and just laughs at him. Poor Ant."
@lozthomasson messaged: "Poor Ant." @gabriellarosa said with crying-laughing emojis: "Crying… poor Ant." And @jamie_pragnell joked: "'Let’s get ready to tumble.'"
