Ant McPartlin got in the mood for seeing Newcastle United at Wembley on Sunday, with a show of support for his team before cameras started roiling on Saturday Night Takeaway.
Ant and his presenting partner in crime Dec Donnelly were gutted not to be at St James' Park at the start of February to see NUFC bag their first trip to Wembley in 24 years for the Carabao Cup final, with a 2-1 second leg win over Southampton on home turf. While Britain's Got Talent filming commitments prevented them from making the trip to Tyneside, they took to Twitter straight after the final whistle to share their excitement at getting to see the Magpies in action on the big stage again.
On Friday, in an interview on Heart Breakfast, Ant and Dec admitted that they were more nervous for Sunday's game then they were for the first live show of Takeaway's new series, joking that their ITV show returning was 'a nice distraction' to take their mind off Newcastle's clash with Manchester United.

But, while he was full of pre-match nerves for Wembley, Ant also staged a show of support that will have gone unnoticed by many people who tuned into watch Saturday Night Takeaway. While, as they always do, Ant and Dec hosted the show in sharp suits, hours before the live broadcast, Ant was pictured on set (in photo above) wearing a jumper with the Newcastle Brown Ale logo on and the words Haway The Lads and Sunday's date around it.
'Haway The Lads' were also the very same wor4ds uttered by Ant and Dec as they issued a rallying call to United in the dying moments of Takeaway. Many fans would have been hoping and expecting the presenters to reference the final in some capacity and the moment came right before credits rolled.
