Ant and Dec threaten Britain's Got Talent 'rule break' as new series descends into chaos

Ant and Dec look set to follow their Britain's Got Talent colleagues' leads and rip up the rule book as the new series descended further into chaos on Saturday night.

The hosts were once again at the heart of the action as the new series of the ITV show continued, with the hopefuls now having too long left to bag a place in the BGT final, which is set to take place at the start of next month. There was some high jinks last weekend when, having been told by Ant and Dec that he could hit his Golden Buzzer more than once, new judge Bruno Tonioli did just that.

And the former Strictly star is now no longer the only rule breaker of Britain's Got Talent's latest run, as, on Saturday night, Simon Cowell, having come under pressure from the very vocal crowd inside the London Palladium, hit his Golden Buzzer once again, to send dance act Unity through to the live shows, after they delivered an emotional performance.

The collective shone the spotlight on various members throughout their audition, to highlight issues like body shaming, bullying, gender identity and sexuality in front of the judges and crowd.

Fans all chanted for one of the judges to hit their Golden Buzzer, despite there officially being none left. However, taking matters into his own hands and declaring 'sometimes you've got to break the rules,' Simon reached forward to push the button, sending gold confetti falling from the sky onto the dancers below.

And, reacting to what was unfolding in front of them from the side of the stage, Ant and Dec gave an indication that they might too hit their Golden Buzzer again, with Ant shouting: "Do we get another one now? I hope so!"

Ant then told Unity: "We didn't even have any Golden Buzzers left. You've broken all the rules. You were that good!"

Right before credits rolled, Ant quipped: "What even are the rules anymore?" to which Dec replied: "I don't know. They're just making it up as they go along!"

Time is running out for Ant and Dec to hit the Golden Buzzer for a second time, as next week will be the last audition show of the new series.
