Ant and Dec 'split' during ITV Britain's Got Talent failed audition

Dec Ant McPartlin Amanda Simon Cowell David Walliams

Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec were shocked to be 'broken up' during the auditions for the show on Saturday night.

Ant McPartlin was left behind in the wings, splitting up the famous duo. The hosts have been pivotal to the ITV show's success, which has returned after a two-year break.

Viewers have adored their quick jokes, wit, and digs at the panel of judges. Since their TV debut over 30 years ago, Ant and Dec have always appeared as a pair, and so it was a surprise to many that they separated during an act.
