Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have appeared to confirm the location for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2022. The presenters have said the plan is to return to Australia after two years of filming in Abergele in Wales.
The pair spoke to Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on their Heart breakfast show on Thursday, May 26 to discuss the Prince's Trust Awards and promote their new book. But it wasn't long before the discussion turned to the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity.
The long-running ITV show, which has been on screens since 2002, has always taken place in Australia. However, following disruption to travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic, both the 2021 and 2020 series took place at Gwrych Castle in Wales.

During their radio appearance, Ant said: "The plan is, we're going back to Australia, we don’t want to go elsewhere. It's got to go back to it.
"Back to its spiritual home, back to where it all started." He then added: "Everyone wants to see a bit of sunshine at that time of year on the telly."
The most recent series of I'm A Celebrity was won by Emmerdale actor Danny Miller against the gorgeous backdrop of Gwrych Castle. The 200-year-old Grade I listed country house is based in the seaside town of Abergele in the county of Conwy and has been home to I'm A Celebrity for two years.
In 2020 Giovanna Fletcher won the first-ever Welsh series and was crowned Queen of the Castle. The show's move to Abergele helped support ongoing restoration of the castle and gave the region an economic boost.
During their Heart radio appearance Ant and Dec also dropped "secret" details about an All-Star spin-off series
Ant said: "There’s a spin-off show and we’ve got ex campmates and we’re going to take them to South Africa and compete in lots of challenges, head to head trials and what not."
Dec then interjected and said: "But it's top secret so please don't tell anyone, you're not supposed to tell anyone. I think it's still a secret," to which Ant replied: "Not anymore!" For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
