Ant and Dec have paid an emotional tribute to the Queen following her death aged 96.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on Thursday afternoon. She was on the throne for more than 70 years and is the UK's longest-reigning monarch.
Crowds of mourners have laid flowers and gathered outside of Buckingham Palace in London. Heartfelt tributes have also been paid by people across the North East.
On Thursday evening, Geordie TV presenters Ant & Dec released a touching tribute to the Queen.
The duo posted on Twitter: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is hard to believe she will no longer be with us. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with King Charles and the entire Royal Family. Rest In Peace Your Majesty. And thank you".
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has also paid tribute to the monarch. The former striker tweeted a photograph of him with Queen Elizabeth in Alnwick Garden.
He posted: "The Queen dedicated her life to the service of this country. For a boy from Newcastle it was an honour to be in her presence. Thank you Ma’am. For everything"
The Queen's eldest son Prince Charles has now become King Charles III.
In a statement earlier today, Buckingham Palace said: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
