Ant and Dec give warning to Saturday Night Takeaway star as they return after stage fall

Saturday Night Takeaway hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were quick to offer a warning to one regular star on the series on Saturday night.

The star in question made a comeback to the show after missing last week's episode, following an awkward tumble off the stage.

Shrek is one of the movie characters who join Ant and Dec on stage for the Happiest Minute of the Week segment, as the hosts hand out tickets to Florida for the end of the series.

But earlier this month, fans were left concerned for the person donning the Shrek costume as they took a tumble off the stage.

As they were leaving the studio, Shrek was spotted falling down to the lower ground as the other characters filtered out.

Fans were then left concerned last weekend when he didn't seem to appear on stage as normal, while it may have been a coincidence.

This week though, Shrek was back with his pals and Ant and Dec with fans saying he looked "stronger than ever".

But hosts Ant and Dec were quick to offer a warning to their co-star, as they clearly knew all about his stumble a few weeks ago.

As Shrek wandered around the stage, fans heard Ant saying: "Take care Shrek. Shrek, watch yourself, watch yourself on the stairs."

Viewers were amused over the moment, realising it was a reference to Shrek's fall earlier on in the series.

One fan tweeted: "Them telling shrek to watch himself," as another said: "'Be careful Shrek' they know haha."

Other viewers were relieved to see him back unharmed, claiming they were left worried by his absence after his fall.

A fan tweeted: "Glad to see shrek is still alive," as a second said: "At least Shrek is ok."

Another added: "Yey, Shrek's back, I was worried when he wasn't there last week lol!"

It comes as hosts Ant and Dec announced the line-up for I'm A Celebrity's spin-off in South Africa.

The stars will compete with each other to be the first I’m A Celebrity Legend. Ant and Dec will host the show, which starts at the end of April. There will be no public vote.

Amongst the line-up are former stars Shaun Ryder, Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo and Phil Tufnell.

Joining them are Janice Dickinson, Fatima Whitbread, Paul Burrell, Helen Flanagan and Carol Vorderman.

Many viewers were pleased to finally know who was and wasn't on the list, while it's been confirmed more names are yet to be announced.

But some fans were not happy about those confirmed, with many suggesting there were other stars who would have been better for an All Stars spin-off.

Taking to Twitter after the big news, one viewer commented: "Bit of a disappointing lineup tbf."

Another said: "For 'All Stars' this line up is dire. Its as dull as the background! Roll on Australia in November."

A third added: "Quite disappointing," as a fourth viewer tweeted: "Anyone else think the Im a celeb all star lineup is shocking?"

Meanwhile, chatting with Lorraine Kelly at the start of this year, Ant and Dec revealed a few more secrets about the upcoming special.

Dec explained: "It’s kind of an all-stars… Taking some of your favourite campmates from the last 20 years and taking them for a brand new challenge in South Africa.

"So it's a completely different landscape and they're doing it again. They're competing to become the first ever I'm A Celebrity ‘Legend of the Savanna’... It’s very special."

Revealing the differences to the live Australian series, Ant added: "And it's slightly different to the show we do in Australia because they go head to head in trials and whoever loses leaves. It’s quite brutal, so that’s how we decided the winner."

Dec then chimed in and declared: "We’ve done it, we’ve shot it and it’s really, really good."

Saturday Night Takeaway airs live at 7pm on Saturday on ITV1 and ITVX.
