Ant and Dec have apologised over a series of 'rude words' which many viewed missed on ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The popular pair made the apology during Saturday evening's show (March 5).
It followed a heart-warming part of the who that left one audience member shocked, Leicestershire Live reports.
The TV presenters subsequently apologised and people were left baffled.
Addressing the issue live on air after an ad break, Ant told viewers: "We just want to apologise if you spotted any rude words during the last part of the show."
"We're live tonight,” added Dec.
That left many viewers puzzled.
"Rude words? What rude words?” said one person.
"Now I’m wondering what rude words I missed,” mused another.
"Me trying to remember if there was any rude words before the ad break,” added a third.
The unfortunate incident came from audience member Laura who was shocked to find out she was taking part in The Masked Humdinger, an Ant and Dec-twist on ITV’s Masked Singer.
It's believed she was caught on her microphone saying a rude word during the mix of emotions, something that most viewers missed.
Laura's emotions were understandably all over the place during the Masked Humdinger segment as it saw a series of costumed characters turn up on stage to surprise her, with all of them revealed to be members of Laura’s family she hadn’t seen for years.
This included Laura’s daughter, Holly, who travelled 5,000 miles from Canada to reunite with her mum whom she hadn’t seen since before the Covid pandemic.
It was a heartwarming scene that left Laura in floods of tears, with the mother and daughter embracing to the sound of applause from the audience.
Holly moved to Canada six years earlier to live with her wife Jenny and their sons Max and Logan, with Laura only having met Max once as a baby.
She’d never met Logan but that all changed when Ant and Dec revealed that her grandsons had accompanied Holly on the journey, too, with everyone tearing up at the reunion.
“Legitimately crying like a baby at the lady meeting her grandson”, said one viewer.
“OMG, you could have warned us, bawling my eyes out!” said another.
“I am crying so much here,” added a third.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway can be streamed now on the ITV Hub.
