I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here viewers were left shocked when Boy George gave a final blow to his campmates, as he was voted out of the show.
The Country Club singer was the fourth celebrity to receive the least amount of public votes and exited the show in Tuesday’s episode (November 22).
After hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly broke the news in camp, Boy George headed up to chat about his time in the jungle with the Geordie duo.
However, Ant and Dec spotted that Boy George had taken one last memento of camp – a banana. Last night’s episode saw the singer eat Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver’s banana, after she left… without asking.
A hungry Owen Warner was frustrated that the 61-year-old took extra rations from the other campmates, especially when it could have been shared out equally or they could have decided together who got the extra one.
Viewers were left distracted by this final act of taking a banana as he left the jungle, as many questioned why he would need it when he’s off to eat at the hotel.
One fan tweeted: "Boy George leaving with another banana taken from the camp when he’s literally heading to a hotel with all you can eat food????”
As another added: "I love how he’s taking the banana with him."
A third said: "George can’t keep his hands off that banana."
While a fourth wrote: "The banana on the table next to Boy George lol."
During his exit interview, the music icon spoke about how challenging the jungle experience is for the celebrities and how he worked through the tougher moments.
"I didn't realise how tough it was gonna be,” Boy George told Ant and Dec.
"I have challenged all my control issues and where my head goes, but I have enjoyed being here with all of you people and it's been a real adventure."
He added: "It was much tougher than I thought. It makes you really appreciate what you have in life.”
Boy George also admitted that singing helped him through any moments where he was struggling, he said: "I did have times when I dipped and I wanted to leave. But singing and music is the best medicine."
He also revealed that he would love former England rugby player Mike Tindall or Lioness Jill Scott to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.
I'm A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV and ITV Hub.
