A "bubbly, happy woman" who was "a role-model and best friend" to her children was murdered by her husband in what a judge has described as another instance in the conveyor belt of “tragic cases which spring from domestic violence.”
Alan Ward was on Monday given the mandatory sentence of life imprisonment for the murder of his wife Catherine Doyle.
He stabbed the 41-year-old to death at their Dublin home in 2019 and then tried to knife his son Adam when he attempted to intervene.
