Another Tory MP quits UK Government after Rishi Sunak reshuffle

ANOTHER Tory MP has resigned from the UK Government one day after Rishi Sunak's reshuffle.

It comes after Trudy Harrison also resigned from her position as land use and environment minister.

On Monday, the Prime Minister fired Suella Braverman as home secretary and brought David Cameron back into government as Foreign Secretary.

The reshuffle also saw Greg Hands removed as Tory Party chair, replaced by Richard Holden, ahead of an anticipated 2024 General Election.

Now, Julie Marson has resigned her position in the UK Government. The MP for Hertford and Stortford, had been Assistant Government Whip.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Marson (below) said:

"It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve the government as a whip, but I believe it is now time that I return to the backbenches. This was a personal decision.

"I look forward to continuing to serve my constituents as a backbench MP."
