Free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has many teams vying for his services, including the New England Patriots. Now, four-time Pro bowl running back Dalvin Cook could be looking to join the wide receiver.
When appearing on The Adam Schefter Podcast on Monday, Cook said it would be “epic” to join the same team as Hopkins.
Cook is coming off a 2022 season with the Minnesota Vikings that saw him record 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns. It was his fourth 1,000-plus yard season in a row, as he continues to show no signs of slowing down.
Hopkins tallied 717 receiving yards last season for the Arizona Cardinals, despite missing six games due to suspension.
The Patriots do not have a need for a top back. So it would be a long-shot hope to think they’d even consider signing both stars together. Rhamondre Stevenson is coming off a season where he rumbled for 1,040 yards and five touchdowns. He also took the starting spot away from Damien Harris in the process, as Harris fell victim to the injury bug.
“If we can get up on the same roster and be on the same team, that will be the beauty of the situation,” said Cook.

Cook’s admission is certainly exciting for NFL fans, as the combo of the wide receiver and running back would make for an explosive tandem. With that in mind, it may cut the Patriots out of the equation.
