Add one to the pile for Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
Chase, who has made some viral hits out of quotes over the last four or five months, dropped another great one that will be used in memes for years to come.
While speaking with reporters about his game during the 27-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Chase dropped a “I’m open. I’m always f***ing open” in the middle of an answer.
Chase quickly apologized for the word usage and it was a really small moment in a much longer interview, but fans know how the internet works—the three seconds lives forever re-shared while the rest gets lost.
In the interests of sharing the full thing with context, here’s the clip from Fox 19’s Joe Danneman:
A minute of Ja'Marr Chase post-game media session in Tennessee.
Q: Do you feel like you have less time to get open or create space?
A: "No. I'm open. I'm always f***ing open. Excuse my profanity." pic.twitter.com/mD2HhdVk2T

On a day when Joe Burrow threw for just 165 yards for a team that has just three offensive touchdowns in four games, Chase caught seven passes for 73 yards on nine targets. Somehow, that felt a lot worse than his usage during a win over the Rams the week prior, where he caught 12 passes for 141 yards.
Chase had some notable comments in the middle of last month that led to a sitdown with offensive coordinator Brian Callahan before the breakout against the Rams.
This doesn’t feel nearly as dramatic, yet the quote has some legs, for better or worse.
