UK July heatwave: Britain braces for soaring temperatures

  • The UK is set to face rising temperatures as another heatwave is in store. Temperatures are currently forecast to reach 29C in London by Monday.
  • The Met Office predicts warm to very warm conditions across much of England and Wales over the weekend, potentially hitting 30C in parts of the southeast.
  • While the south and southeast will remain largely dry, northern and western parts of the UK are expected to experience more changeable weather with showers or rain.
  • This upcoming heat follows a record-breaking June, which was the hottest on record for England and the second warmest for Wales.
  • Temperatures provisionally reached 37.7C in Lingwood, Norfolk, surpassing the previous June record of 35.6C set in 1976.
