Proposals for another dog-friendly café, a new aparthotel and a new health and beauty clinic are just some of the planning application that were decided on by Cardiff Council recently. Here are some of the planning applications that were approved and rejected last week.

Llanishen
Dog-friendly café, Coffi Lab looks set to open in yet another area of Cardiff. A planning application has been approved for 32-34 Station Road in Llanishen to be turned into another chain of the popular café. There are already Coffi Labs in Whitchurch and Llandaff and a third was approved for Heol-Y-Deri in Rhiwbina last month.
City centre
A change of use application has been approved by Cardiff Council which will see a retail unit in the Capitol Shopping Centre turned into an office space. Retail units 45 to 46, which are currently vacant, will be occupied by Iris Prize Outreach. Iris Prize Outreach is a charity that provides education and training in film production.
Iris Prize Outreach is also known for championing LGBT+ film. The Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival usually takes place every year in Cardiff. St Mary Street will be the home of a new aparthotel. Cardiff Council approved a planning application to convert a former William Hill bookies into co-working space and an aparthotel.
The co-working space will be on the ground and lower ground floor of the premises, located next to Gamlins Music Centre. The aparthotel will consist of 16 loft apartments. You can read more about the plans here. Permission has also been granted for the first floor of 1 Kingsway in the city centre to become an eye care medical clinic that provides laser eye surgery.
St Mellons
Cardiff Council approved a planning application to turn office space at Anda House into a health and beauty clinic, which will be occupied by The Skin Girl. The Skin Girl currently has premises around the UK, including in London, Bath, Gloucester, Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff, and Swansea.
Practitioners at the clinic carry out "aesthetic and luxury, non-surgical skin treatments including skin-tightening, lip and facial fillers, non-surgical nose corrections, cellulite treatments, non-surgical face-lifts (threads), and more".
Llandaff
An application to alter a railway bridge by increasing the height of its parapets has been refused by the council. In a decision notice, Cardiff Council said the proposal would "injure the amenity of the surrounding area" and "it would be possible to increase the height of the bridge parapets using more sympathetic materials".
