Another 5G tower goes up in flames as Whitley Bay mast sustains severe fire damage

A 5G mast in Whitley Bay sustained serious fire damage after it went up in flames on Sunday morning.

Fire engines were spotted at the scene on Beaumont Drive after the tower caught fire at around 6am.

Emergency services have been contacted for comment.

Clean-up is now underway at the site near Beaumont Park housing estate where the incident happened.

Back in January, police launched an investigation into a 'malicious' fire after a 5G mast was torched in Gateshead.

In August last year, a conspiracy theorist caused more than £100,000 of damage by setting fire to a 5G phone mast also in Gateshead.

"Delusional" online theories about the dangers posed by the technology sparked the drastic action and arson attack by David Patterson who once covered himself in tin foil to 'protect himself from radiation'.
