'Annoyed' pundit McCann slaughters Silva as Rangers ace faces celebration backlash

Annoyed Neil McCann has slaughtered Fabio Silva for his Rangers celebration against Hearts.

The on-loan Wolves striker netted the thrid goal for his side at Tynecastle in a 3-3 draw.

Silva celebrated by pointing out the name on the back of his shirt in a similar fashion to his celebration against Kilmarnock.

The Portugal winger had faced backlash over the celebration with some supporters labelling it embarrassing.

However, it was later reported Silva did not intend to have a go at supporters with the gesture, but instead aimed to silence his critics.

Silva repeated the celebration at Tynecastle to put Rangers 3-2 ahead - Kyosuke Tagawa scored in stoppage time as the match ended in a draw.

But pundit McCann was left less than impressed by the Wolves ace as he slammed Silva suggesting he looked like the result "doesn't bother him".

On Sportscene, McCann called out Silva's celebration as he blasted the forward for having the "audacity" to point to his name after shouldering partial blame for Dexter Lembikisa's goal for the hosts.

McCann said: "From a Rangers perspective, I can understand why Philippe Clement's disappointment. You want to win every game.

"But the players have to ask themselves individually - do they want to win every game?

"And certain individuals for me are still showing that it doesn't bother them.

"I pointed out Fabio Silva last week not working back, he's doing it again today for the second goal. Standing there, loses possession to Lembikisa. Just walk.

"And then he's got the audacity when he scores the third goal to point and tell everybody who he is.

"Well, the full-back knows who you are as he's just looked at the back of your shirt as he's running off you and going into the back of Yilmaz.

"I'm maybe sounding a bit annoyed but that sort of thing as a coach or a manager should really annoy you.

"Rangers lost the league last week. They should've gone to Tynecastle, done the business professionally, get off and prepare for a huge game next week.

"There's no party time, there's nothing to celebrate. Win the game, get your job done and look at next week.

"For me, I think Philippe Clement needs to look at that squad and say 'that isn't acceptable.'"
