Leandro Trossard became Arsenal's first signing of the January transfer window when his £21million move from Brighton & Hove Albion was confirmed on Friday afternoon.
With Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson currently unavailable due to injury, the Gunners' lack of depth in the forward department has been highlighted with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah starting every game since the Premier League season resumed after the World Cup break.
Therefore it's no surprise that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is delighted to have secured a deal for Trossard: "In the summer we were looking for a player in that position and we weren’t able to do it, so it’s something that the squad needed," the Spaniard revealed in his pre-Manchester United press conference.
