Les Dennis has announced he will replace Anne Robinson as the host of Countdown.
Anne, 77, joined the popular Channel 4 programme in 2021, becoming its sixth presenter and the first woman to front the show. The Crosby born TV presenter quit the show after just one year.
Colin Murray is fronting the show until the end of the year, but Les has confirmed he will temporarily take over in August. He tweeted: "From 4th August until 15th I shall be hosting the iconic @C4Countdown.

"It is such an honour. Hope you enjoy." The 68-year-old hails from Garston and presented Family Fortunes from 1987 - 2002.
Les also had a notable role in Coronation Street as he played Michael Rodwell on the Cobbles from 2014 - 2016. Followers flooded the comments to congratulate Les after the career announcement.
Dave said: "Good luck Les, you’ll smash it!"
Mark added: "Congratulations Les, you are a great fit for Countdown. Always good to see you on the box"
