Annan travelled back to the 12th century as the Historia Normannis re-enactment group made camp at the motte and bailey at the Everholm over the weekend.
Visitors were able to witness the skills of that era including combat and living history craft displays.
Despite the weather conditions, the day began with medieval dancing, followed by the tournament and training, a fashion show with a fancy dress competition and a final battle as brave men of Annan protected their castle.
The event, held over Saturday and Sunday, was part of the Annan the History Town Festival.
The next event on the festival programme, Tombs n’ Tales of Old Annan, is today at 7pm.
This week visitors can also join a free Zoom webinar about Scottish family history tomorrow and Historic Railway Exhibition from July 28-31 which will bring back the memories of the railways in a bygone age.
