CHENNAI/COIMBATORE: Thousands of students who had graduated from the distance mode programmes of Annamalai University were in for a shock as the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Monday declared that the degrees awarded by the university after 2014-15 were invalid.
Every year 30,000 to 40,000 students enrol in the distance mode programmes of Annamalai University, which used to be hugely popular across the country before the territorial jurisdiction was introduced.
