An activist group is set to march through the city centre today as the Queen's Jubilee celebrations continue. With life returning to normal in the UK, Animal Rebellion Bristol is once again taking to the streets this morning (Saturday, June 4) at 10.30am outside Barclays in Broadmead.
This is AR Bristol’s first planned action for 2022, which will be a "nonviolent civil disobedience march" with Extinction Rebellion’s samba band to support the action, the group says.
Animal Rebellion is currently demanding the UK government stop subsidising the meat and dairy industries, while also demanding that Bristol City Council work with ProVeg to switch to plant-based food.

The action will further feature speeches by representatives from the Plant-Based Treaty alongside outreach talks on the day about the link between climate breakdown and the meat and dairy industries.
A 22-year-old from Bristol was arrested and charged in connection with an Animal Rebellion protest group targeting McDonald's in July of last year.
Sidney Davies, of Chessel Street in Bristol, was one of 15 defendants due in court on Tuesday, March 22, following a protest at OSI Food Solutions, a factory which supplies burgers to McDonald's on Luneberg Way in Scunthorpe.
AR Bristol is encouraging members of the public to join in the march from 10.30am outside Barclays in Broadmead.
