Can't get enough of creature-catching games like "Pokémon" and "Palworld?" Well, a new title is just around the corner from its release.
Here's what you have to know about "Aniimo" before its official release.
'Aniimo'
"Aniimo" is set in the vast fantasy world of Idyll, where mysterious creatures known as Aniimo live alongside the environment. The game is developed and published by Pawprint Studio, a FunPlus-backed development studio and publishing label.
The official "Aniimo" website describes the game as a creature-catching action RPG centered on exploring Idyll and teaming up with magical creatures. Players take on the role of a Pathfinder, exploring the world and forming bonds with these creatures as they uncover its mysteries.
The Aniimo are more than creatures for players to collect, as they have their own personalities, behaviors, and relationships with the world around them. According to Xbox Wire, Pawprint Studio has emphasized making the creatures feel like living parts of Idyll rather than simple companions.
Release Date and Platforms
"Aniimo" will be releasing on September 16, 2026.
It will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android. It should be noted that the PC and console versions are launching first, followed by the mobile version.

Gameplay
"Aniimo" combines creature collecting with open-world exploration and real-time action. Players can capture Aniimo using Aniipods, while each creature has abilities that can be useful in combat and exploration. According to Xbox Wire, players can also research Aniimo by observing their behavior and photographing them in their natural habitats.
A major gameplay feature is Twining, which lets the Pathfinder merge with an Aniimo and control it directly. This can change how players fight and explore, with different Aniimo offering abilities for swimming, gliding, reaching higher areas, and solving environmental challenges.
Editions and Pricing
"Aniimo" will launch as a free-to-play title, with the base game available at no cost. Players can optionally purchase an Advanced Edition Pack for $9.99 or a Collector's Edition Pack for $19.99.
The official Aniimo website notes that the Advanced Pack includes an exclusive in-game accessory and the Premium Pass, while the Collector's Pack adds additional in-game content.
