Missed opportunities have become a common theme for the New England Patriots, who came up short for a second consecutive week in a 24-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
After digging a two-touchdown hole, the Patriots attempted to climb out of it late in the game, only to see their hopes crushed on a failed lateral pass that ended up in the hands of offensive guard Cole Strange. It was a fourth down of a potential game-winning drive, and the Patriots came up short, again.
Buy Patriots TicketsThings unfolded similarly to the Patriots’ season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With the loss, the Patriots have now fallen to dead last in the AFC East division behind the Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. It’s a pretty humbling fall from grace for a team that used to be a perennial Super Bowl contender.
Here’s what Patriots Twitter was saying after the game:

I am concerned for Mac Jones because I believe the end is near for him in New England I believe the Patriots is going to trade him or release him at the end of the year I believe the backup quarterback will be the new starter in 4 more games if the Joker cannot get any better

I honestly don’t care about football anymore and I’m strictly a UFC superfan because it’s the best sport in the world but let me go on the record and say this: Mac Jones sucks and the New England Patriots are an abomination

Talk about ruining an ending of a game. Letting that game end that way. Overturning the spot called on the field with borderline evidence. These kind of calls make me want to stop watching this league.
