Alan Shearer has warned Match of The Day fans he'll need to calm down before presenting the show this evening. The Magpies all-time top goalscorer was left angered by the controversial VAR decision that saw Tyrick Mitchell's own goal chalked off.
It's the second consecutive game that Newcastle have been on the wrong side of a VAR decision, leaving Newcastle fans to question the Premier League. The Magpies were not alone this week when it comes to controversy - West Ham United also saw a reasonable goal disallowed for a foul on Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The goal would have seen the Hammers draw level with Thomas Tuchel's side, but VAR ruled the goal out for a foul by Jarrod Bowen on the Chelsea shot stopper. The call was just as controversial as Joe Willock being adjudged to have fouled Vicente Guaita, despite Mitchell clearly pushing the Magpies midfielder in the back.

When prompted for his thoughts on the Hammers incident, Shearer tweeted: "That and the Newcastle decision. So so bad. Hope I’ve calmed down by 10.25pm when the show starts!!"
Responding to a tweet asking if it was the correct decision, the Magpies legend said: "No. Willock clearly pushed into the keeper. Pathetic decision."
