Neighbours have hit out at a "hazardous" pothole that they claim is becoming a safety concern for drivers.
The pothole is located close to Ainsdale railway station, on Shore Road, and residents have been blighted with the problem for more than two months. The state of the road has left people wondering "how much damage it’s done to vehicles".
The pothole was temporarily fixed last month but did not work, and Network Rail said that they are working on an "immediate plan" to solve the issue.

They hope that a plan will be in place immediately and the pothole will be fixed by the end of the month.
One woman said: "Fingers crossed it might actually be repaired properly this time, I wonder how much damage it’s done to vehicles." Another person said they were "concerned" for the safety of road users.
Another wrote: "I reported this two months ago. They seemed to fill it with gravel or something else and it clearly hasn’t sorted the problem."
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We thank local people for reporting their concerns over the pothole at Shore Road level crossing and as safety is our number one priority we are working on an immediate plan for a temporary fix, and a permanent repair by the end of this month. The work will lead to some disruption for road users so we thank people in advance for their patience while we carry out these important repairs."
