And in a cruel twist of fate, it would be that film that eventually derailed the hottest couple in Hollywood - who tied the knot 22 years ago today - for it was on set that sparks flew between Brad and is co-star Angelina Jolie.
Rumours of an onset romance began to circulate in 2004. Brad initially denied there had been some "dastardly affair" but later both he and Angelina admitted they had "fallen in love" during filming.
