Angelina Jolie is pulling back the curtain on her personal life — and making a surprising confession about her love life.
As she prepares for the release of 'Couture', the Oscar-winning actress revealed that she has not dated anyone since her high-profile split from ex-husband Brad Pitt nearly a decade ago.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, Jolie, 51, admitted that romance has taken a back seat as she focused on raising her six children.
"To be candid, I haven't dated since I divorced a decade ago," the actress said, explaining that motherhood and family have remained at the centre of her world.
A role that hit close to home
Jolie stars in 'Couture' as Maxine Walker, an American filmmaker whose life is turned upside down after a breast cancer diagnosis during Paris Fashion Week. The role forced the actress to confront questions about love, identity and what comes next in life.
The 'Maleficent' star said she initially struggled with the idea that her character could be both a devoted mother and a woman open to love and connection.
"It took me a second," Jolie admitted, adding that the film challenged some of her own assumptions about relationships after divorce.
'Life has broken me a little bit'
In one of her most candid remarks yet, Jolie reflected on where she finds herself today.
Rather than worrying about getting older, the actress said she feels a strong desire to start living more freely again.
"I'm thinking I have to live again. Be free again. In a way that maybe life has broken me a little bit," she said.
The emotional confession has sparked fresh conversation about the difficult years following her split from Pitt, which led to a lengthy and highly publicized legal battle.
How her daughters are helping her heal
Jolie also revealed that her daughters have played a major role in helping her reconnect with herself beyond being a mother.
Watching them grow into young women has made her reflect on what she wants for them — and what she may have lost along the way.
The actress shares six children with Pitt: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
According to Jolie, her children are encouraging her to embrace a new chapter in life, one where she is more than just "Mom."
She said their strength, openness and confidence have reminded her that there is still room for her own dreams and identity.
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt's romance heats up
While Jolie says she has remained single since her 2016 divorce, Brad Pitt has moved on with girlfriend Ines de Ramon.
The couple, who began dating in 2022, have become one of Hollywood's most talked-about pairs. Recent reports have even suggested wedding bells could be in their future, with speculation that the two are considering taking the next big step together.
For now, however, Jolie appears focused on a different journey — rediscovering herself after years of putting family first.
