There aren’t many electric college football atmospheres better than Saturdays inside Tiger Stadium at LSU.
As the Tigers culminate the spring with their spring game, two of the school’s biggest stars—Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Tigers women’s basketball star forward Angel Reese—made an appearance at the annual game.
The duo not only showed their faces, they made a familiar gesture to their ring fingers, referencing the national championships they helped their respective teams win at the university.
Burrow, the former LSU quarterback and 2019 Heisman Trophy winner, led the Tigers to a College Football Playoff national championship in 2019–20, a campaign that many consider one of the greatest in program history. Now, the 2022 Pro Bowler has since guided the Bengals to a Super Bowl LVI appearance during the 2021 NFL season and an AFC championship game appearance against the Chiefs in the ’22 campaign.

Reese, embracing her bold personality, recently led the Tigers women’s basketball team to the first national championship in program history. The LSU forward was named the NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Through 36 games this season, her first as a Tiger, Reese averaged 23.0 points and 15.4 rebounds per contest. She also set an all-time Division I women’s basketball record with 34 double-doubles this season.
Burrow and Reese will take in the first look of the Tigers’ program heading into the ’23 season. The Tigers are coming off a largely successful ’22 campaign, in which they went 10–4 overall and 6–2 in SEC play with a Citrus Bowl win under first-year coach Brian Kelly.
