Angel Reese had the coldest response to being asked about leading the Sky’s epic comeback win

Sunday afternoon delivered arguably the best-played game of the 2024 WNBA season to date. It’s fitting that it came at the hands of Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever and Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky, a matchup that is resembling a rivalry more and more by the week.

In an epic battle that saw Clark shining as a playmaker and mean-mugging after big shots, the Sky got the last laugh in a nail-biting 88-87 victory. They did it by unthinkably overcoming a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit in the final seven minutes.

What was most encouraging for Chicago was Reese’s dynamic performance. The rookie forward dropped a monster 25 points and 16 rebounds, with 10 of her points coming as the Sky mounted their incredible comeback. Reese didn’t mince her words in her postgame interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe.

She said her clutch play was the result of her being a “dog,” and that’s something you just can’t teach:

It’s safe to say this was easily Sky’s signature victory of the season so far. This squad still needs a lot of work to be a contender again but wins like this show off Chicago’s remarkable potential for the future.
