Angel Hidalgo defeated fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm in a playoff to win the Open de Espana in thrilling circumstances on Sunday.

The 26-year-old from Marbella was the overnight leader at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid in the nation's capital but battled hard to dig out a final round of one-under to end 72 holes on 14-under.
