Ange Postecoglou 'unlikely' to consider Celtic exit for Brighton as Premier League side's next boss race ramps up

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is reportedly not keen to leave Parkhead for a move to Brighton with a four-man shortlist emerging to replace Graham Potter.

Potter has been unveiled as Thomas Tuchel's replacement at Chelsea, with social media speculation touting the Celtic Park head coach as a potential successor at the Amex after his instant success in Glasgow's east end. Pundit Danny Murphy had even gone as far to suggest the Stamford Bridge side should have made their move to bring in the Australian, while Parkhead hero Chris Sutton branded a move to the Seagulls a "downgrade".

Bookmakers had also touted Postecoglou as one of the frontrunners, but The Independent now report that an approach for the Celtic boss is "unlikely" to get off the ground. While the outlet names the boss as an "obvious choice" for the hot seat, Postecoglou is said to be focusing on the Scottish Premiership title race and Champions League group stage.

The Athletic report that the Parkhead boss has been left off the shortlist of four candidates as it is believed he would not be receptive to an offer. Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper is the preferred candidate, according to the outlet.

Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen is also high on the agenda. Swansea City boss Russell Martin and Luton Town gaffer Nathan Jones are also being considered.
