Tottenham fans can start looking ahead to the 2023/24 season now that the club finally have a new manager at the helm. Appearing on course to surpass the 72 days it took to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo in Jose Mourinho's place two years ago, it once again took Daniel Levy the same amount of time to name Ange Postecoglou in the hotseat following two wonderful years with Celtic.
The Australian has penned a four-year contract in north London and the hope is that he will be the man to lead the Lilywhites to the silverware they so desperately crave. Having a number of items on his to-do list already, including making a decision over the players at his disposal and moving a number on as part of his squad refresh, Postecoglou must also speak to Harry Kane in the coming weeks.
Someone who doesn't tend to spend very long chatting to his players, the 57-year-old ideally needs to sit down with the striker to discover where his head is at ahead of the new season amid links with Real Madrid and then also outline his own plans for the club. Given the uncertainty over his future as he gets set to enter the final 12 months of his contract, Kane will also want to sit down with the new boss and hear what he has to say.
One player who does look on course to exit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of the summer transfer deadline is Hugo Lloris. Amid plenty of speculation over his future anyway, the goalkeeper has indicated his "desire for other things" as he gets set to enter the final few years of his career.
Speaking in the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, Spurs correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discuss the importance of allowing Lloris to depart on a free transfer rather than demanding a fee for him after his 11 years of services in N17. As well as discussing the futures of both Lloris and Kane, both explain why Postecoglou is the right man to lead Tottenham forward and what exactly players and fans can expect from him.
Nike's latest Tottenham shirt is also a talking point after the club's home kit for the 2023/24 season was officially revealed on Thursday morning. You can find the link to the latest episode on most podcast platforms by heading right here.
