Ange Postecoglou made a strong impression in his first Tottenham Hotspur press conference as head coach and the club will now want him to work his magic with Harry Kane.
The England captain is set to begin pre-season training with the squad on Wednesday and he will speak to the new Spurs boss about his immediate future in the wake of Bayern Munich's €80million (£68.3million) bid for the striker, which also includes add-ons.
football.london reported last week that Spurs have offered their all-time top goalscorer, who turns 30 this month, the opportunity to discuss a huge new contract in order to stay beyond his current deal which ends in 2024. Kane is believed to be in no rush though to commit to a new deal during this transfer window while he assesses what the future holds.
Postecoglou was asked plenty of questions about Kane in his first press conference on Monday afternoon at Hotspur Way and dealt with the subject well while insisting that he was planning for a future at the club with the striker in it.
The Australian's squad was added to on Tuesday by the arrival of 23-year-old winger Manor Solomon on a free transfer, following on from the signings of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison, with Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro's loan deals also made permanent. More are set to arrive at the north London club with plenty of exits expected.
