Ange Postecoglou may have to work his transfer magic at Spurs this summer window, with reports suggesting that the club have already blown their budget.
Tottenham have already completed deals for Dejan Kulusevski (£26million) and Pedro Porro (£39million) this month, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario looks to be their next target.
The Empoli shot stopper is priced at £17million and a further £25million could be set to be spent on Bayer Leverkusen defender Tapsoba, with reports suggesting that a deal is close.
The Daily Express report that the four deals take Tottenham's spending to £107million for the summer, and that is already over their planned budget.
The deal for Kulusevski and Porro may have not been included in the proposed budget, given the pair were at the club last season.
Reports have also suggested that Spurs are close to completing a £60million deal for James Maddison, who was relegated to the Championship with Leicester City last term.
Speculation has also been surrounding Celtic duo Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate, with both players linked with a possible reunion with their former boss.
Postecglou also faces a battle to keep his star man at Spurs with reports today suggesting that Bayern Munich are set to table a 70million euro bid for Harry Kane.
The England captain though is not expected to leave the club for less than £100million, and he is also determined to break the Premier League goalscoring record.
Tottenham’s stance on Kane remains consistent with the last few transfer windows despite continued interest in the 29-year-old, who was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City in 2021.
Kane subsequently stayed with his boyhood team and broke the club’s all-time scoring record in February with the winner against Pep Guardiola’s side.
It saw Kane move beyond Jimmy Greaves’ tally of 266 goals for Spurs, which had stood since 1970.
The next target in Kane’s sights is Alan Shearer’s record Premier League haul of 260 goals.
After a fine individual campaign in which Kane scored 30 goals, despite the north London club finishing eighth and having three head coaches, the forward is now only 48 away from passing Shearer’s tally.
Discussions between Spurs and Kane’s camp over a new contract were set to be pushed back until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, but the club are yet to appoint a director of football and Kane’s own season only finished on June 19 following England commitments.
