Ange Postecoglou is set to be handed a NINE-figure war chest in his first summer as Tottenham manager.
The Australian has left Celtic for Spurs and is now assessing his options as he looks to get them back into Premier League top four territory. And it's claimed that he is after Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba as one of his key targets, but the Evening Standard state he will need to cough up a 'huge' bid of around £61m to beat rivals Arsenal to his services.
Another big fee is needed if he wants to take James Maddison away from relegated Leicester City, with Sky claiming the Foxes have slapped a price tag in excess of £50m on the England international's head. Add in reports that they will need to pay £40m to get Brentford goalkeeper David Raya over the line, then it appears highly likely that Daniel Levy will allow his new boss to tap into the financial reserves.
One player who won't be blowing up his bank balance is Heung Min Son. The South Korean star is one of the latest linked with a big money move to Saudi Arabia, where Al Ittihad were lining up a £51m bid, but he said: "I have many things to do in the Premier League. Money doesn't matter to me now, and the pride of playing football, to play in my favourite league is important."
Fans meanwhile are willing to be patient with the former Celtic boss, albeit they are worried about the start of their season. Football London put some questions to fans on Postecoglou, and 'of the hundreds that responded, 66% answered that he will need time to get things going.'
Amid three of his first seven Premier League games seeing Spurs play Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool, punters have had their say. The report states 'Asked whether the fixture schedule has been kind to Spurs, a whopping 78% said that no it had not.'
