Ange Postecoglou reacts to Celtic winner furore and insists he was in 'worst position in the world'

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou insists he was in no position to make a judgement on his side's controversial winner against Aberdeen.

Liel Abada appeared to be offside before getting involved in the build-up to Jota's second goal to secure a 3-2 win for the league leaders.

The Parkhead side remain top but not before a second half sweat, as Christian Ramirez and Lewis Ferguson netted to cancel out the visitors' 2-0 lead, that was established by Jota and Matt O'Riley.

But the Portuguese winger was on hand to rifle home a Celtic winner that caused ructions among the home players and support.

Postecoglou insists it's for Willie Collum and his officials to make the call.

Speaking on Sportsound, he said: "I am in the worst position in the world to comment on something like that, I am nowhere near it.

"The linesman is line with that, he is making the decision, along with the referee, from my perspective, with those kind of things, you let the officials take care of it.

"I can't stand here from the middle of the ground and say what I though of the incident, the goal was given, I thought from us it was a good reaction from us to being level.

"We went out there and didn't look to go into our shell, we looked for a third goal and we got it."

And the 56-year-old admitted that any negatives in his side's second half were outweighed by the grittiness on display from his side.

Celtic's old weakness from set plays reared its head as Ramirez and Ferguson struck, however, the Australian was quick to point to the instant response during the 3-2 win.

He added: "Yeah, we're ok, we've been ok for a while but as you saw in the second half, as I keep saying, there are still areas we can improve in and that's what we need to do.

"We need to keep becoming a stronger side, a better side, deal with situations better.

"In the context of that, the players have risen to the challenge thrown at them, there is a great character in the dressing room, that's a good sign for things that are going to come ahead."

"Second half, we were okay, but set-pieces cost us and then the crowd gets involved which gives them (Aberdeen) a bit of confidence. We could have maintained our composure better. I thought we were rushing.

"But this is not an easy place to come and win, so great character and a good reaction to get the third goal.

"As you saw in the second half there are still areas where we can improve and that's what we need to do."
