Tottenham Hotspur are about to officially begin the Ange Postecoglou era as the Australian meets many of his players for the first time this weekend.
Saturday brings the contracted start date for the 57-year-old head coach following his switch from Celtic and this weekend Tottenham's non-international players will start heading back to the Hotspur Way training complex for their first pre-season under him. They will undertake a variety of fitness tests to check on their condition before heading out on to the pitches to begin absorbing the Postecoglou way with his new coaching team.
The Australian has already been making his presence felt in his dealings with Spurs' new signings with both James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario having spoken about the impact he made on them with his words in explaining why he wanted them to join his new era at the club.
One other big conversation that Postecoglou will need to have is the one with Harry Kane when he returns to pre-season training on July 12 following his holiday.
The England captain, who now has just 12 months left on his contract, is being chased by Bayern Munich with Spurs not wanting to sell their star player. How his conversation with Postecoglou goes will play a major part in what comes next.
