Ange Postecoglou hails 'brilliant' Celtic as three changes all land 'good job' praise from boss

Ange Postecoglou has hailed the 'oustanding' attitude from his side as Celtic battered Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

The Hoops found themselves FOUR goals to the good before the half hour mark in Ayrshire with the game out of sight. Kyogo Furuhashi opened the scoring after capitalising on the slack pass, he did all the hard work on his own before slotting a low effort beyond Sam Walker. Minutes later Daizen Maeda headed home from an Alistair Johnston cross before Matt O'Riley got in on the act in a stunning opening 20 minute period.

Kyogo had the chance to grab his 30th goal of the campaign and Celtic's fourth of the afternoon on the 22nd minute mark but despite sending the Killie No1 the wrong way he watched his effort strike the opposite post and bounce away to safety. However, the Hoops faithful weren't made to wait long with O'Riley grabbing his second moments later.

Liam Donnelly netted a consolation strike before half-time for the hosts but it was another relentless display from the champions who not only broke the 100 goal barrier but also chalked up a 30th win of the league campaign.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the win, Postecoglou said:"Outstanding first-half. The boys were brilliant. I thought the football, attitude and intent - it was a big game last week - was outstanding.

"The second half got a bit sloppy. It never got really into any sort of rhythm. A lot of stop, starts. But overall knowing the challenge that was there before us today, great job.

"I mentioned before the game I thought we needed some energy and I thought the guys coming in gave us that. The whole group in general came out with a real intent but they were brilliant.

"Tomoki [Iwata] was excellent in midfield, Yuki [Kobayashi], it is a big physical challenge playing here on that surface, I thought he handled it really well and it was good to get Haksa [Sead Haksabanovic] some minutes. So the boys who came in really did a good job."
