Ange Postecoglou believes the Celtic board trust him when it comes to bringing in new faces to the club after a stunning first season in the transfer market.
The Aussie boss arrived at Parkhead last year and instantly went about beginning his summer rebuild with a number of new faces arriving in Glasgow. The likes of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Joe Hart, Kyogo Furuhashi and Josip Juranovic all arrived under his watch and have all played major roles in the recapturing the Premiership title from Rangers and winning the Premier Sports Cup in his debut campaign.
In January, he further boosted his ranks with the likes of Daizen Maeda, Matt O'Riley and Reo Hatate in another shrewd business move that gave Celtic that extra boost to go on and win the league crown at a pivotal point in the campaign. The loan transfers of key duo Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers have been made permanent with Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist also arriving so far this summer.

Postecoglou has earned the trust of chief executive Michael Nicholson and finance director Chris McKay as he bids to add a couple of more players ahead of their title defence and crack at the Champions League.
He said: “The whole club has been really supportive of me.
“With Michael and Chris and the board and the key decision-makers, I think there is a fair bit of trust.
“I had to earn that trust last year, particularly in the first window. I think they feel like they understand me and what I’m trying to do. That makes things a lot easier.
“It’s not really a battle for me to try to convince people.
“I’m totally understanding of the kind of markets we need to be looking at, and financially, where we are.
“So I think that there is an alignment there within the whole club.
“That’s what I am saying. We’re not stressed about our situation. We will bring in one or two players, but I’ll make sure they are the right ones.”
Celtic shelled out £12.5million to bring back Jota and Carter-Vickers on long-term deals while Bernabei rocked up for £3.75m from Lanus.
Asked if that was a major statement of intent from the club ahead of a huge season, Postecoglou added: “Yeah, I believe so. I don’t think that was ever in doubt — the club have supported me from the moment I’ve come in.
“You saw that back in January, we brought in four players in that window pretty quickly, and that was a real sort of pivotal point in our season and our attempt to win the league.
“They have done the same now. The club understands the vision we have, what we want to create and what we want to build."
