AnEsonGib vs Austin McBroom to be postponed as Brit is refused boxing licence

AnEsonGib and Austin McBroom will postpone their scheduled boxing match after the Brit required more testing in order to get a professional licence.

The YouTube rivals had been locked in negotiations for months before finally announcing earlier this summer that they would be squaring off at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. But Gib has had issues with medical testing, and will have to rush to California in order to be sanctioned for a new date, expected to be in a few months' time.

The event was set to feature YouTube stars, rappers and professional athletes, including BlueFace, Adam Saleh and the legendary NFL star Adrian Peterson. It remains to be seen if the other four main card fights will also be rescheduled, but Mirror Fighting understands no event will go ahead on July 30.

Co-main event fighter Blueface is due to fight on August 27 against Thomas 'Faze Temperrr' Almeida in London, and may not be available for a new date. Also featured on the card was Saleh, who has now missed out on two major fights after his bout with football legend Patrice Evra was cancelled earlier this year.

A spokesperson for Gib told Mirror Fighting : "Gib hasn’t pulled out, he just has to have some additional tests and information from a consultant before the California Boxing Commission can sign off his pro license. It's just an unforeseen late process which has had a knock-on effect to the fight date. The fight will be postponed but not cancelled as it stands."

Drama began around the event's postponement last night on social media when McBroom told fans that the bout was off due to an unspecified issue on Gib's end. The Saudi Arabian-born Brit soon responded, and reports began to swirl that he had suffered a head injury during camp.

"I just woke up to some unfortunate news this morning from my team," McBroom told fans in an announcement video on Instagram. "I don't know how to feel right now, I'm sad, frustrated, p***ed off, all I could really say is it has nothing to do with me or Social Gloves. The fight, Austin vs Gib, may potentially have to be postponed. Out of respect for Gib, I'm going to let him explain his situation, he has no choice other than to make a video explaining why the fight has to be postponed.

"As of right now the team wants me to continue on with the event, they want me to pick a new opponent, but out of respect for Gib, out of respect for us training our a**es off for the last few months and fans wanting to see the fight happen, I'm willing to postpone it if he can explain why. That's all I can really say right now, I'm p***ed off."

Gib responded in a message of his own, saying: "In ten days, I had a scheduled fight with one Austin McBroom, July 30 in the Crypto.com Arena. I've done my training camp, I'm fight ready, I'm primed to fight this individual.

"But unfortunately I've been told that I have to do more medicals for this to be sanctioned as a professional fight out in LA. So in seven hours I'm going to fly to LA to do these said medicals. Social Gloves have informed me that the fight is not cancelled, it is postponed, I'll keep you guys updated. This is not over, son, this is not over!"

In a deleted video, McBroom claimed that Gib had a "head injury" that was serious enough that the Commission wouldn't approve the fight. This would appear to confirm an earlier report from Drama Alert's Daniel 'Keemstar' Keem, but Gib has yet to comment on the now-deleted video.
