AnEsonGib vs Austin McBroom rescheduled after Brit receives injury all-clear

AnEsonGib has been given the all-clear to fight Austin McBroom with the YouTube rivals set to clash on September 10.

The pair were due to clash in Los Angeles last month but the fight was called off at a week's notice when Gib failed to be granted a licence to fight in California. He has now been granted permission to fight as a professional with an official announcement about the rescheduled date due soon.

"The California State Commission, one of the strictest boxing commission has approved me with a licence," Gib tweeted. "McBroom was nearly begging for the fight to be canceled using words like “injury” praying that I wouldn’t be approved No where to run now p****."

Gib also included a copy of an email from the commission confirming he was clear to fight. There had been fears over Gib's health when McBroom suggested he had failed a brain scan. "I just woke up to some unfortunate news this morning from my team," McBroom told fans before the postponement.

"I don't know how to feel right now, I'm sad, frustrated, p***ed off, all I could really say is it has nothing to do with me or Social Gloves. The fight, Austin vs Gib, may potentially have to be postponed. Out of respect for Gib, I'm going to let him explain his situation, he has no choice other than to make a video explaining why the fight has to be postponed.

A spokesperson for Gib later told Mirror Fighting : "Gib hasn’t pulled out, he just has to have some additional tests and information from a consultant before the California Boxing Commission can sign off his pro licence. It's just an unforeseen late process which has had a knock-on effect to the fight date. The fight will be postponed but not cancelled as it stands."

But Gib was unable to be secure a licence in time to save the show and the event was cancelled with the intention of staging it later in the year. It became the first of three fights involving YouTubers to be postponed when Jake Paul was forced to cancel his bout with Hasim Rahman Jr.

Paul is now expected to return in October while his rival KSI has been forced to find a new opponent after Alex Wassabi pulled out of their August 27 date with concussion. KSI will now take on debutant Swarmz who is better known as a rapper.
