Andy Walker launches scathing Rangers verdict on Alfredo Morelos as star 'out of shape'

Alfredo Morelos has been told to shape up in a blistering assessment on his season at Rangers so far.

Sky Sports commentator and former Celtic forward Andy Walker has been far from impressed with the Colombian, who missed two glorious chances in their 3-0 Champions League defeat to Napoli on Wednesday. His term started with manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst omitting them from their European qualifier against PSV due to attitude and fitness concerns, overall scoring just two of his 114 Govan goals over 14 appearances this term.

Walker has not been impressed by him as he enters the final stages of his contract at Rangers and went as far as insisting he looks heavier than he should. The former forward said on Go Radio of Morelos and fellow out-of-form forward Ryan Kent: "I don't see any problem with their (Rangers') fitness. The only one I would pull up for fitness is Morelos. He looks out of shape.

"I can't believe he wasn't fit for the start of the season. I can't believe he is playing Champions League games and he is carrying a few pounds.

"I do not see a problem with their fitness at all. I do see a problem with Morelos and that is fitness, sharpness, just letting himself down. He's not ready for the start of the season.

"We have discussed it before on whether intending to be a Rangers player beyond January, him and Ryan Kent. I don't see a problem with Ryan Kent's fitness. His end product and numbers have to be better."
