Andy Samberg is set to star in a new comedy feature directed by Radio Silence, known for their work on recent hits. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the comedy pitch package for The Robots Go Crazy, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett set to direct and Samberg to star. The movie is described as an action comedy, with plot details being kept under wraps.

The film will be produced by The Lonely Island's production company Party Over Here, with Samberg, Ali Bell, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone serving as producers. Additional producers include Bettinelli-Olpin, Gillett, Chad Villella, and Jon Silk. The script for the movie will be penned by Andrew Lanham, who will also executive produce.

Samberg, known for his recent work in Hulu's Self Reliance, will also appear in the upcoming biopic Lee alongside Kate Winslet and Josh O'Connor. He has lent his voice to animated features such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, who directed the recent vampire flick Abigail, have previously worked on successful projects like the Scream franchise and Ready or Not. In a recent interview, Gillett expressed their eagerness to dive into new projects without delay, emphasizing their creative momentum and openness to new opportunities.

Amazon MGM Studios' acquisition of The Robots Go Crazy was first reported by Deadline, marking another exciting development in the collaboration between Samberg, Radio Silence, and the talented team behind the film. Fans can anticipate a unique blend of humor and action in this upcoming comedy, promising an entertaining cinematic experience.
